The Experience

Over two days and two nights, we balance these incredible roads with fine dining, cosy 4* accommodation, and great company. We’ve designed this route to be as enjoyable for the passenger as it is for the driver—plenty of beauty to soak in and stories to discover, an experience that is quite literally “Out of this Wold.”  With this in mind, we celebrate the simpler things as part of the surrounding beauty; with ice cream and coffee stops to allow you to soak up the experience, sample local delights (and find some treasures to take home!), enjoy learning some of our regional expressions and relax with a private dining experience with a menu created by our Chef Patron, celebrating the local specialities.  There’s nowt quite like a Womble on t’Wolds.

The Wolds Womble: A Tale of Two Landscapes

A journey that celebrates the striking contrast between two landscapes that share a name but offer different souls.

Our base for 2 nights is the beautiful 4* New Inn hotel, known for its fine dining curated by Chef Patron Alex Knowles, at the northern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. We meet on the Friday night at the hotel for dinner and to get to know each other before the journey begins.

The Yorkshire Wolds: Bold & Atmospheric

After breakfast, we take the Humber Bridge to cross into Yorkshire where our story starts with the dramatic countryside. This is the "Gothic" side of the Wolds—a land of dales, rolling hills and sheer coastal cliffs. Bigger, bolder and prouder than its quiet Lincolnshire cousin, these wolds create an atmospheric and breathtaking day out, providing the perfect backdrop for those "window-down" moments.

The Lincolnshire Wolds: Tranquil & Timeless

The "Hidden Secret" of the North. Lincolnshire is all about the rhythm. The Lincolnshire wolds are softer, more flowing and the quiet, unspoilt roads carve gracefully through the picturesque Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We’ll travel ancient ridgeways that follow the crest of the hills, offering spectacular, sweeping vistas—keep an eye out for Lincoln Cathedral standing proud on the distant skyline. It’s a smooth and engaging drive with views that will make you smile.
